"GEEK "
/ɡēk/ The word geek is a slang term originally used to describe eccentric or non-mainstream people; in current use, the word typically connotes an expert or enthusiast obsessed with a hobby or intellectual pursuit. Patrick is an unabashed geek; this extends to Roleplaying Games, which have gained considerable traction in the past decade as a performance stage, in addition to being a growing community of inclusion to rally against the exclusivity in the world over the course of recent years.
His participation in Dungeons & Dragons -- and similar RPGs -- is an effort to continue inclusivity, while leaning strongly into his performative and theatre-director background. Teaching new players how to come to the game rather than excluding or separation tactics is an ongoing effort to allow anyone to fly their geek flag, regardless of gender, race, color or creed. Patrick has joined the online/in-person Gaming crew known as CAST PARTY as one of their for-hire Game Masters, offering paid online D&D games for interested players of any experience level. Patrick has experience with: *D&D 3.5, 4th, 5th editions *MARVEL SUPERHEROES RPG *d20-Modern System *Humblewood: a 5e Compatible Setting *DREAD *ALIEN : the Roleplaying Game System *Magi-Knights RPG system *Blade Runner RPG system *Everyday Heroes rpg system (new!) *Roll20, Foundry, Shard VTTs |
Reviews for Patrick's professional RPG work:
"awesome... to have Patrick run a birthday campaign for 6 enthusiastic and chaotic 12/13 year old's yesterday. He managed the chaos spectacularly and they all had a great time. It was lauded as the 'best campaign' she had ever done by one of the most experienced players and the kid who had never played is now hooked! Patrick’s patience and enthusiasm along with some cool voices made the experience for the kids. And his story telling sucked them in." Katie C, in Yonkers |

SELF/PANELISTIn addition to playing, Patrick has had the pleasure of joining "Session Zero: A D&D Podcast", available on YouTube and in Apple Podcasts, aimed at answering questions for beginner and intermediate players.
In episode 2, "Dungeon Masters Assemble!", the panel discusses various approaches to the game, "house rules" and insights into running a game of D&D as a Dungeon Master/Game Master!
Episode 11, "Creating a Character; Multiclassing; Homebrew" tackles the many ways one starts preparation as a player; the choices that must be made when preparing a hero, and tips for some ambitious players or for higher-level games.
Episode 12: Combat & Magic is all about the challenges--and fun!---that come along with being a flashy wizard, a furious fighter, or a sneaky rogue. Battle tactics and how to personalize your spellcasting are topics with a lot of depth
Patrick also participated in Slices & Dices' GROUP CHECK panel to discuss the topics of the D&D HONOR AMONG THEIVES and dissect the 2023 Wizards of the Coast/open gaming license/ONED&D situation and will be back on as the situation continues to develop.
